Artist's Bio

--------------------

Born and raised in the hills of northwest Georgia, Tandy's early years were spent on an equestrian farm where she experienced the connection between self and nature. Influenced by her mother's search for universal truth, Tandy grew up free to explore and participate in life unrestrained by conventional thought.

Tandy has traveled throughout much of the United States, spent time in Europe, and has experienced life on both the east and west coasts. Tandy has found that no matter where she goes she feels the "inner-connectedness" of all things. This feeling of "inner-connectedness" has greatly influenced Tandy's art, and it is this element, which gives her work its soulful quality. Many of Tandy's facial sculptures depict women of wisdom ~ healers and protectors as well as entities in varying stages of transformation.

Tandy is a self-taught artist, and she has been sculpting these images for about 18 years. She has only recently begun to sell them. She has shown her work at galleries in Scottsdale and Sedona, Arizona as well as Atlanta, Georgia and Seattle, Washington. Most recently, her work has been displayed at the Contemporary Craft Market in Santa Monica, California, West Valley Art Museum in Sun City, Arizona, and Vail Arts Festival in Vail, Colorado.

Tandy currently resides in Arizona where she has acquired a love for the Sonoran Desert and the influence it has had on her art.
